 New version info:

A new entity pack this time. Also included are subdirectories with extra entities for certain maps. For users that have older versions please delete your beastlord directory before installing this version! None of the maps have been changed since the last update.
- New map: Vault 77 made from scratch. V0.10 fixes lag isues so go download it! Complete with everything a vault needs including some extras like a vehicle bay, robot and laser defense systems, shooting range and prison cells. The objective? Hold your ground against a 200 men strong Enclave force ranging from corporals up to the deadly lieutenant.
This is the first map to introduce a team matrix system addind several teams to choose from. Pick Defenses if you want to control the turrets, pick TBC if you are a member of the clan or want control over the TBC residents in the vault, pick Residents if you want control over other people living in the vault (not implemented yet). If any of those teams is not picked the entities bound to it (turrets, residents) wont spawn.

What it does:

The mod enables cooperative play on modified maps. You team up to face a Beastlord, the gamemaster that controls all enemies and runs the show. You gain EXP and items and you fight tougher and tougher enemies. We are still working on adding mission objectives and subplots. Later on we might even go back to the original FO roots with roleplaying.

What it doesnt do:

It wont harm your FOT instalation in any way like some other mods since this is just an addon.
Walk your dog.
Wash your car.
Etc...

Instalation:

To get this thing going:

  1. Download the entities package.
  2. Extract the entities package to your Fallout tactics entities directory (ie: C:\Games\Fallout Tactics\core\entities\). Make sure you extract files with path! This should create a folder called beastlord and there should be .ent files in it. Also in this folder there must be 2 subfolders called weapons and other! If they aint there you did not extract with path.
  3. Download the maps.
  4. Unzip and put the maps into your missions folder (ie: C:\Games\Fallout Tactics\missions\)

Playing

The game is played with EXP on, 1 round only, timelimit off, respawning off and APreg 100%. FF should be set at 33% or more! I suggest you use the time of day specified by the map(DEFAULT). The only rules are: no muling, INV bugging or hexed chars. Failiure to follow these rules will result in you beeing thrown out of the playing party. This is not a competition this was not made to let you feel l33t but this was made to be fun and enyoyable for all players. Another good rule for slower hosts is no moving for 10 seconds after the game starts! This is to prevent the lag that all the beastlord minion cause when they go agressive and sneak.
The point limit is dependant on the map:

Ghoul Town: 250pts
Raider Camp: 500pts
Preoria: 1000pts
We r so fucked: 2000pts
Mutnant madness: 2000pts
Vault 0 entrance: 5000pts
Vault 77: 5000pts

Bugs, desynching and FAQ:

This mod requires at least a medium instalation of FOT! Full is highly recommended!
-The addon will not in any way "fuck up" your fallout tactics instalation!
-Desynch happens if you dont have the same entities as the hosting computer!
-The most reasons for desynchin are: inability to install the ent pack, bad FO installation, outdated coop ent files.
-The easiest way to fix this is to reinstall the coop mod and if that doesnt help reinstall FOT.
-another form of desynching is not beeing able to move at all on a map. This is due to differences in your and the hosts map/important entities.
-The host needs a good computer and a good connection since there s usually around 100+ foes on a single map.
-The map remaking process is hard and long. You need to remove all entities except the lights. Then you have to put the beastlord entities on the map, give them ammo and any other inventory you d like them to have. And finaly get rid off all useless stuff like triggers, zones and other unused teams. If you cant find the right entity you can allways make one or ask me to do it for you.

Beastlord tutorial:

The beastlord is not allowed to take his own characters into the game. Either bring premades that fit into your force or kill you character at start. Some maps allready have melt points to prevent the BL from taking any chars into the game at all. The only map that is an exception to this rule is Vaut 77. When the game starts press F12 to select all your minions. Then put them all on agressive and sneak. From then on you follow the rules of micromanagement:

Ghoul Town: 250pts
BL instructions: please go to options and set to allways walk! This map should resemble the Resident evil series a bit so try to ambush people in buildings and maybe group a few ghoul parties and formation move em around. Also keep the muties and the ghouls with weapons at bay.
Raider Camp: 500pts
BL instructions: not much to know here.
Preoria: 1000pts
BL instructions: Dont send raiders into the vault.
Mutnant madness: 2000pts
BL instructions: not much to know here.
We r so fucked: 2000pts
BL instructions: move muties in groups of max 10 distribute the giant mutie force in the north at your wish! Dont use Force Fire with rockets firing blindly at every spot. Use force fire only as a response from players using force fire.
Vault 0 entrance: 5000pts
BL instructions: Behemoths need support so keep em with a squad of humanoids, dont abuse the rocketbots but rahter send them in one by one.
Vault 77: 5000pts
BL instructions: Give the defenders 5 minutes to prepare if they request for more get the comando teams into position but wait with your main forces. Attack in predesigned groups but DO NOT rush. Since the vault is a tight space move your minions one by one. Also use covering fire and try to disable the vaults defenses. If one of your characters reaches the vault overseer the game is an automatic win for you.
